Limitations
- The form for the QS newsletter is provided by an external mailing service. We have tested it and adjusted its colours; we have only limited influence on the rest of its structure.
- We cannot ensure the accessibility of linked documents and videos from other providers, such as PDF files from authorities and associations.
Evaluation method
Self-assessment using an in-house development ("Barrierefreiheits-Checker.de") and LERA. Since the website was rebuilt, we also run automated tests with the axe-core tool against WCAG 2.1, level AA, and measure the contrast of the colours used. On 28 September 2026 we tested all pages of the website in this way at desktop and smartphone width and at a width of 320 pixels, and tested keyboard operation of the menus.
Further measures to improve barrier-free access to our website
We constantly strive to improve the options for barrier-free access to our website. Accessibility is built into the pages themselves, with structured headings, labelled form fields, tested contrasts and a visible focus indicator. Since the website was rebuilt, we no longer use the former add-on tool ("Accessibility-Assistent"). You can adjust font size, contrast and read-aloud functions in your browser or operating system.
