Regulation (EU) No 528/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 22 May 2012 concerning the making available on the market and use of biocidal products (Biocidal Products Regulation) requires, in Article 95(2), that since 1 September 2015 biocidal products may only be placed on the market if the substance supplier or product supplier is listed, for the active substance or substances contained in or generated by the product, on the list under Article 95(1) of the Biocidal Products Regulation (the Article 95 list) for the product type or types to which the product belongs.

Did you know?

Hydrogen peroxide is not an approved drinking water disinfectant.
According to the UBA list (annex to the Drinking Water Ordinance), hydrogen peroxide
is listed there only for the purpose "oxidising agent" and not as a
"disinfectant".

Facts in our favour: biostream® products convince

With the chlorine dioxide-based biostream® concentrates, you can now reliably disinfect drinking water tanks, drinking water pipes and soda maker bottles. Use the active substance from waterworks without expensive equipment.

The active substance in biostream® products (chlorine dioxide) has been used to disinfect drinking water in waterworks since the mid-1950s. Producing it there requires complex, expensive plant that is no longer needed. Produce effective chlorine dioxide yourself, quite simply, and benefit from its full efficacy against E. coli, Pseudomonas and Legionella!

Disinfect drinking water pipes, dispensing systems and tanks in motorhomes, camping vehicles and on boats and yachts in compliance with the law. Hydrogen peroxide and silver-based products are not an alternative

The biostream® products ZERO and asepticaPRO comply with DIN 2001-2:2009-04 (drinking water supply from small and non-stationary installations) and are effective across the entire drinking water pH range. Hydrogen peroxide is not listed as a disinfectant in the DIN standard. The current UBA list of the German Environment Agency also lists hydrogen peroxide only as an oxidising agent, not as a disinfectant.

Take a look at the label of the disinfectant you currently use: if you find hydrogen peroxide listed there as the active substance, then, according to the German Environment Agency, you are NOT using a disinfectant but an oxidising agent, which under DVGW code of practice W291 must be dosed 25 times as strongly to achieve the same efficacy as the active substance in biostream® products.

And if your product also contains silver: silver, too, is not listed as a disinfecting agent, only as a preservative. The DIN standard also includes the following note on this: "Only in exceptional cases, for the storage of drinking water without use over a longer period. Preservation does not replace disinfection of drinking water that is not in perfect condition, where this is required."
